Job summary

The City of Markham is seeking a temporary (November to April) Labourer in Winter Maintenance to support parks and sidewalk upkeep. A valid G license is required; DZ is an asset. Prior grounds or winter maintenance experience is preferred, with ability to operate maintenance equipment and lift heavy loads.

A clean driving record and the ability to work with limited supervision are essential. Role reports to the Working Supervisor and offers a temporary full-time schedule of 40 hours per week,

Qualifications

• Minimum G Driver's License in good standing.
• DZ license in good standing an asset.
• Able to perform essential duties including heavy lifting.
• Experience in grounds/sidewalk maintenance; winter maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience operating grounds/sidewalk maintenance equipment.
• Ability to work with limited supervision.
• A clean driver’s abstract (no demerit points and no more than one moving infraction and one non-moving infraction).

Responsibilities

• Parks maintenance activities and/or sidewalk maintenance.
• Experience in grounds/sidewalk maintenance equipment operations.
• Assist with winter maintenance tasks as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
