Job summary

The City of Markham is seeking a Temporary Full Time MOL Supervisor for the Winter Maintenance program in Markham, ON. You will join the Operations, Community Services team to oversee sidewalk winter maintenance and ensure service levels.

Responsibilities include coordinating crews, operating sidewalk tractors, plowing, sanding, and signage setup. Availability for up to 48 hours/week and on-call one weekend in every other rotation is expected.

Qualifications

Experience in grounds or winter maintenance; winter maintenance preferred.
Experience operating sidewalk maintenance equipment (tractors, snowplows, snow blowers, sanders).
Ability to work with limited supervision and good customer service.
Valid G Driver's License with clean driving abstract; DZ license is an asset.

Responsibilities

Provide assistance as part of a crew in sidewalk winter maintenance to meet service levels.
Maintain a designated sidewalk route per SOPs.
Operate sidewalk tractor units for plowing, sanding, and snow blowing.
Perform hand shoveling, sanding and manual salt.
Backup to other Operations Roads and Parks Labourers as needed.
Perform sidewalk inspections per maintenance standards.
Set up and remove signage and safety devices.
Traffic set up for construction per Book 7.
Litter and debris pickup.
Minor trimming of trees and shrubs.
