Job summary

The Town of Milton is seeking a Seasonal Maintenance Operator - Roads for winter operations and general road maintenance. The contract runs from November 2, 2026 to March 31, 2027, with a standard 40‑hour week and varied shifts including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Hourly wage ranges from $27.06 to $29.22 with benefits such as employee assistance and OMERS pension eligibility. The role requires a DZ license, OHSA knowledge, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a

Qualifications

• Secondary school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum one year in municipal public works or parks or related experience.
• A valid DZ license with acceptable driving record; four or more demerit points disqualify.
• Working knowledge of relevant legislation including OHSA.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Mechanical aptitude to operate relevant equipment.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Execute day-to-day road operations activities.
• Maintain and repair roads, sidewalks, curbs, bridges, signs and stormwater infrastructure.
• Perform snow plowing, sanding, salting and de-icing during winter operations.
• Operate equipment per safety guidelines and PPE requirements.
• Respond to customer inquiries per procedures and maintain communication with staff.
• Complete work orders and document equipment usage and maintenance.
