Job summary

The Municipality of North Perth is seeking Seasonal Equipment Operators to support weekend coverage for the upcoming winter. Based in Listowel, ON, operators will assist with road patrol, snow removal on roads and sidewalks, and handle related construction and maintenance tasks.

Candidates should have a secondary school diploma, a DZ or AZ license with a clean driving record, and experience in construction or heavy equipment operation.

Salary Range: $31.68 To $39.60 Hourly

The Municipality of North Perth is currently seeking Seasonal Equipment Operators to support with weekend coverage for the upcoming winter! Working alongside the Roads team, the operators will be responsible for assisting with winter operations including road patrol, snow removal on roads and sidewalks as well as construction and maintenance as needed.

Successful candidates should have:

• SecondarySchool Diploma
• DZ or AZ license with a clean driving record.
• Experience working in construction or a related field.
• Ability to operate and maintain heavy equipment. Grader and front-end loader experience is an asset.
• Completion of a satisfactory criminal record check.
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holiday shifts, as required for snow removal operations.

Applicants must be committed to weekend on-call requirements between November 2026 and April 2027 and be available on a call-in basis (weather dependent). A winter schedule will be provided in advance.

The salary range for this position is $31.68 - $39.60 per hour plus standby pay according to the HR Policy. Salary will align with experience and qualifications. North Perth offers optional enrollment in the OMERS pension plan for contract staff. Applications are being accepted until September 22, 2026.
