Job summary

Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, a landmark luxury hotel in downtown Vancouver, seeks a Pastry Cook II to craft high-quality pastries in a world-class kitchen. You will uphold Fairmont’s standards for presentation, safety and guest satisfaction while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Seasonal full-time assignment October 2026–April 2027, with a starting wage of $26.82/hour rising to $33.53/hour after probation.

Qualifications

• Previous professional pastry, baking or culinary experience in a hotel/ banquet/high-volume setting.
• Strong pastry knowledge and kitchen practices.
• Culinary or Baking & Pastry education is an asset; Red Seal preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, bake, finish and present pastry and dessert items per recipes and standards.
• Complete daily mise en place and maintain an organized workstation.
• Support pastry items for à la carte, banquets and hotel operations.
• Maintain quality, portioning, freshness and presentation.
• Follow food safety, sanitation and allergen-handling procedures.
