Job summary

The City of Edmonton invites applications for a temporary Field Worker in the Mobility Data Monitoring & Technologies team. You will help collect mobility data for policy development, performance measurement, and transportation planning.

This role requires safe field work, data entry, and collaboration with the team to ensure accurate data collection. Successful candidates may have Grade 9+ and 6 months in mobility data collection, plus comfort with tools like HDM and TRAXPRO.

Qualifications

  • Completion of Grade 9 or equivalent or higher and related coursework.
  • 6 months of experience in transportation/mobility data collection and record keeping.

Responsibilities

  • Install and remove mobility data collection equipment using power tools and hand-tools.
  • Work at heights following site characteristics and safety practices.
  • Establish safe work zones and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Program data collection devices and download/upload data daily.
  • Collaborate with team to deploy and retrieve equipment efficiently.
  • Record field data on sheets or a data app and input into Google Sheets.
  • Implement daily field data collection plans.
  • Operate city vehicles safely per policy.
  • Identify equipment and supplies needed to meet schedules.
  • Review field work for completeness and data quality.
