Job summary

Bass Pro Shops in Ottawa is hiring for Seasonal Events Associates to support store events and engage customers during the holiday season. You’ll help run Santa’s Wonderland activities, assist families with photo sessions, and participate in on-the-spot interviews during the national hiring event.

Reporting to the Retail Sales Manager, you will greet customers, process transactions, and contribute to a festive shopping experience with strong emphasis on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• One or more years’ experience in a sales or service environment is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Ability to provide superior customer service and exceed customer’s expectations.
• Ability to use good judgment and logic.

Responsibilities

• Greet and engage customers in a friendly and enthusiastic manner.
• Provide a legendary experience for every customer and promote Bass Pro Shops & Cabela’s programs.
• Perform duties associated with store events.
• Use point-of-sale and inventory computer systems to accurately and quickly complete customer transactions following all policies, including those requiring identification and age checks.
• Process customer payment using debit, credit card, gift cards, and cash.
• Respond and resolve customer issues by using good judgment and logic in solving problems and making decisions within the job scope.
• Keep work area clean, neat and safe at all times.
• Follow all Company policies and procedures.
• Assist in other areas of the store when business needs dictate.

Summary

Reporting to the Retail Sales Manager, the Seasonal Events Associate performs duties associated with store events, participates in “short term” assignments and seasonal events to support the store as needed throughout the year.

Every holiday season, Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s transform our stores into a festive wonderland with fun and games. Our Seasonal Events Associates act as “Santa’s Elves” executing the Santa’s Wonderland event, providing families with a free studio-quality photo with Santa, and facilitating various family games activities to help create unforgettable memories for our customers.

Starting Pay Rate: $17.60 - $20.25
