The City of Orillia invites applications for an Information Technology (IT) Student Cyber Security position. You will work with the IT team to analyze, develop and implement security solutions while handling end-user incidents.

The role involves liaising with Cyber Security professionals and external partners within a four-month contract. Responsibilities include vulnerability management, IT policy updates, and supporting security readiness activities.

Competenze

• Currently enrolled or completed a post-secondary program in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Technical knowledge of end user technologies (iOS, Android, Windows).
• Basic understanding of information security principles and practices.
• Familiarity with Governance Risk and Compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST).
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Microsoft 365 products; advanced Excel and Power BI knowledge.
• Valid Ontario class 'G' driver’s license with access to a vehicle.
• Criminal Record Check required.

Mansioni

• Act as part of the IT Team contributing to analysis, development and implementation of security solutions and handling end user incidents.
• Review IT Security recommendations from third parties and monitor progress against action plans.
• Work on activities within the Corporate IT Security Program for Cyber Insurance, Assessments and Audits (NIST).
• Assist with vulnerability management and remediation of security findings.
• Learn and apply IT Service Management best practices for incident resolution and service processing.
