Job summary

Mike Wiegele Helicopter Skiing in Blue River, BC, is seeking an Assistant Pastry Chef for seasonal, full-time work in our Main Lodge Kitchen. The role supports the Pastry Chef in producing breads, pastries, desserts, and chocolate work, with an emphasis on creativity and initiative in a fast-paced luxury resort environment.

Candidates should have completed a recognized culinary program, 2+ years in a similar pastry position, and Food Safe and WHMIS certifications.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized culinary program.
• Experience in luxury hotel and restaurant environments is an asset.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Advanced pastry techniques and chocolate work knowledge.
• Listen and follow direction to exact specifications.

Responsibilities

• Produce breads, doughs, ice cream, pastries, chocolate/sugar work.
• Assist Pastry Chef with dessert buffet items and plated desserts.
• Research, test and develop new recipes.
• Produce and maintain high standards of food quality.
• Maintain cleanliness and safe food handling procedures.
• Collaborate with Pastry Chef to plan recipes and dishes.
