Job summary

Diving Sports in Vancouver, Canada, is seeking a dynamic Scuba Diving Instructor/Sales Associate to share your passion for diving and guide students and customers through courses and gear selection. You will teach PADI/SDI courses, advise on wetsuits, masks, fins and accessories, and handle retail transactions while maintaining a welcoming shop and supporting the team.

Applicants should hold PADI/SDI Instructor or Divemaster, have a valid driver's license and be eligible to work in Canada;

Qualifications

• PADI/SDI Instructor or Divemaster certification required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Authorized to work in Canada.
• Previous retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Freediving knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach PADI/SDI scuba diving courses.
• Assist customers in selecting gear and equipment.
• Provide advice on diving techniques, safety, and equipment maintenance.
• Process retail transactions and manage inventory.
• Keep the shop organized and welcoming.
• Participate in events and community outreach.
• Support team collaboration on projects as needed.

Job Description

We are currently seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Scuba Diving Instructor/Sales Associate. In this role, you will have the opportunity to share your passion for diving with scuba students and provide expert guidance on equipment selection, to contribute to the overall success of our dive shop.

Responsibilities

Tasks vary depending on the schedule but include:

• Teach PADI/SDI scuba diving courses
• Assist customers in selecting appropriate scuba diving gear, including wetsuits, masks, fins, and other accessories
• Provide knowledgeable advice on scuba diving techniques, safety procedures, and equipment maintenance
• Conduct retail transactions accurately and efficiently, including processing payments and managing inventory
• Assist with the organization and maintenance of the retail space, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for customers
• Participate in promotional events and community outreach initiatives
• Contribute to the overall success of the team by supporting colleagues and collaborating on various projects as needed

Requirements

• PADI/SDI Instructor or Divemaster
• Valid driver’s license
• Being able to legally work in Canada
• Previous retail or customer service experience preferred
• Freediving instructor/freediving knowledge preferred
