Job summary

GardaWorld’s Windsor, Ontario position seeks a Screening Contractor Training Representative to lead GardaWorld and CATSA mandated training programs, including onboarding and refresher sessions. You will deliver on-the-job training, monitor assessments, and support ongoing skills development, while coaching Screening Officers and ensuring adherence to procedures and safety standards.

Able candidates bring 12+ months as a certified Screening Officer, travel flexibility, and strong English

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months as certified Screening Officer.
• Must hold FBS ATR and NPS qualifications.
• Fluent in English; French is an asset.
• Willing to travel to other airports for training.
• Able to stand and walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Delivers GardaWorld and CATSA training including post-course practical training and refresher sessions.
• Monitors tests and assessments related to CATSA NTCP and GardaWorld sessions.
• Oversees Screening Personnel participation in practical skills development sessions.
• Implements training for new operating procedures.
• Supports new hire orientation training.
• Manages and delivers individual training improvement plans.
• Delivers CATSA SOBs and SOPs as they are released.
• Provides checkpoint and oversight support where required.
• Provides recommendations on certification maintenance.
• Provides coaching, correction and feedback to Screening Officers.
• Intervenes if screening steps are not completed or errors occur.

This position is open exclusively to current Screening Officers of Garda Security Screening Inc. based at YQG, YHM, YKF, YTS, YAM or YSB.

As an SCTR, you'll be responsible for delivering training following company guidelines. This position also includes coaching, mentoring, and assisting in re-certification.

Responsibilities

• Delivers on-the-job GardaWorld and CATSA-mandated training such as but not limited to: requisite post-course practical training and refresher courses, PIP/PERS, Non Screening Time training requirements, and other security and customer service training (e.g., practice sessions).
• Monitors tests and assessments related to all elements of CATSA’s NTCP program, and GardaWorld skills development sessions.
• Supervises Screening Personnel participation in practical skills development sessions
• Implements training for new operating procedures.
• Supports new hire orientation training.
• Manages and delivers individual training improvement plans.
• Deliver CATSA SOBs and SOPs as they are released
• Provides checkpoint & oversight support where required.
• Provides recommandations on certification maintenance.
• Provides coaching, correction and overall feedback to Screening Officers.
• Intervenes immediately if parts of the screening process were not completed or if critical aspects of the screening process were performed incorrectly.

Position Requirements

• Minimum of 12 months experience working as a certified Screening Officer.
• Minimum of 12 months with no PERs requiring a coaching plan
• Obtain a 90% or greater on the annual RLP exam
• Obtain a 90% or greater on the annual X-Ray exam
• Anyone who has not completed the aforementioned exams must complete and achieve the 90% score to be eligible for appointment for SCTR training.
• Appointment to training for role will be completed by seniority for all qualified candidates
• Due to operational requirements candidates are required to hold FBS ATR and NPS qualifications.
• All endorsements must be in good standing and no performance or attendance related events (GardaWorld or CATSA issued) in previous 12 months.
• Must be open and willing to travel to other Airports to support training efforts.
• Must have excellent communication skills; fluent in written and oral English.
• Must have a desire for service excellence and excellent customer service skills.
• Must have shown good team work abilities and interpersonal skills.
• Must be attentive to detail and able to think creatively.
• Must be reliable, independent and able to handle stress.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• French fluency is an asset.
• Time management/ self motivating.

Wage: $31.81 CAD/hour
