Job summary

GardaWorld is seeking a Screening Contractor Training Representative in Mount Hope, Ontario. You will lead, train, and elevate frontline staff by delivering GardaWorld and CATSA-mandated training, coaching, mentoring, and assisting in re-certification.

Responsibilities include on-the-job training, monitoring assessments, supervising participation in skills sessions, implementing new procedures, supporting orientation, and delivering training improvement plans.

Qualifications

• Certified Screening Officer with at least 12 months of experience.
• Must hold FBS ATR and NPS qualifications.
• Willingness to travel to other airports for training.
• Fluent in written and oral English; French fluency is an asset.

This position is open exclusively to current Screening Officers of Garda Security Screening Inc. based at YHM, YKF, YTS, YAM, YSB or YQG.

As an SCTR, you'll be responsible for delivering training following company guidelines. This position also includes coaching, mentoring, and assisting in re-certification.

Responsibilities

• Delivers on-the-job GardaWorld and CATSA-mandated training such as but not limited to: requisite post-course practical training and refresher courses, PIP/PERS, Non Screening Time training requirements, and other security and customer service training (e.g., practice sessions).
• Monitors tests and assessments related to all elements of CATSA’s NTCP program, and GardaWorld skills development sessions.
• Supervises Screening Personnel participation in practical skills development sessions
• Implements training for new operating procedures.
• Supports new hire orientation training.
• Manages and delivers individual training improvement plans.
• Deliver CATSA SOBs and SOPs as they are released
• Provides checkpoint & oversight support where required.
• Provides recommandations on certification maintenance.
• Provides coaching, correction and overall feedback to Screening Officers.
• Intervenes immediately if parts of the screening process were not completed or if critical aspects of the screening process were performed incorrectly.

Position Requirements

• Minimum of 12 months experience working as a certified Screening Officer.
• Minimum of 12 months with no PERs requiring a coaching plan
• Obtain a 90% or greater on the annual RLP exam
• Obtain a 90% or greater on the annual X-Ray exam
• Anyone who has not completed the aforementioned exams must complete and achieve the 90% score to be eligible for appointment for SCTR training.
• Appointment to training for role will be completed by seniority for all qualified candidates
• Due to operational requirements candidates are required to hold FBS ATR and NPS qualifications.
• All endorsements must be in good standing and no performance or attendance related events (GardaWorld or CATSA issued) in previous 12 months.
• Must be open and willing to travel to other Airports to support training efforts.
• Must have excellent communication skills; fluent in written and oral English.
• Must have a desire for service excellence and excellent customer service skills.
• Must have shown good team work abilities and interpersonal skills.
• Must be attentive to detail and able to think creatively.
• Must be reliable, independent and able to handle stress.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• French fluency is an asset.
• Time management/ self motivating.

Wage: $31.81 CAD/hour
