Job summary

Radius Recycling in Victoria, BC is seeking a Non Ferrous Retail Scale Operator to weigh and grade incoming scrap, operate the in-bound and out-bound scales, and direct customers to unloading areas. You will assist in communicating material pricing to production crews and customers while ensuring ISRI-based metal identification and grading.

The role emphasizes adherence to Health, Safety and Environmental standards, safe handling of materials, accurate documentation, and strong customer service

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a high-traffic, safety-conscious environment.
• Willingness to work outside in all conditions, PPE required.
• Knowledge of metals identification and grading (ISRI specifications).
• Ability to communicate pricing to customers and production crews.

Responsibilities

• Weight and grade incoming loads; operate in-bound and out-bound scales.
• Direct customers to unloading areas and coordinate documentation with office.
• Compute ticket totals for payments and communicate pricing details.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
• Report equipment malfunctions and participate in maintenance checks.
