Job summary

Sheshegwaning First Nation is looking for a School Wellness Nurse to promote children's health in schools and communities. This full-time role involves providing assessments, coordinating care, and delivering health programming.

The ideal candidate will hold a nursing registration, have at least two years of experience, and be dedicated to the health and well-being of children and youth. Benefits include a comprehensive package and a 4-day work week.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) in Ontario.
• Minimum two years of nursing experience is preferred.
• Experience in community health, school health, or Indigenous health is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing assessments and clinical care for students.
• Monitor students with chronic health conditions.
• Identify emerging mental health concerns.
• Facilitate referrals and service navigation for families.
• Deliver health promotion programming.
• Maintain clinical documentation in electronic records.
• Coordinate immunization initiatives with health services.
• Participate in planning to address student wellness barriers.
