Job summary

Winnipeg School Division is seeking Substitute Caretakers to join a roster that fills in for permanent staff on vacation, sick leave or professional development. Each assignment runs for 6 months and can renew toward permanent placement, with full-time hours and a Monday–Friday schedule across multiple sites.

Shifts are 8 hours, starting as early as 6:00 am, with 3:00 pm latest; work involves 85% cleaning and 15% boiler maintenance, requiring reliability, a valid fifth class power engineer

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in cleaning maintenance with knowledge of commercial cleaning products/equipment preferred.
• Completion of the 5th Class Power Engineer's course considered but Provincial Exam and/or boiler hours required.
• Valid 5th Class Power Engineer's Certificate or higher (document to be attached).
• Valid Class 5F Manitoba Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak English to interpret documentation and communicate with staff and public.
