Job summary

Canadian Rockies School Division is hiring a School Counsellor to support the social and emotional learning of all students, providing personal and academic counselling at the school level.

Duties include collaborating with parents, teaching staff, community agencies and the medical community; promoting development; crisis intervention; and coordinating with psychologists and health professionals to meet student needs.

Qualifications

• Provide personal and academic counselling to students (social-emotional learning).
• Collaborate with Learning Support Team and teachers to support student needs.
• Liaise with outside agencies and service providers for student support.
• Crisis intervention at family and school level.
• Coordinate with psychologists, health therapists and other agencies for assessments and programming.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with parents, teaching staff, community agencies and medical professionals.
• Promote personal and social development appropriate to students' developmental stage.
• Participate on committees focused on community and school initiatives.
• Lead and participate in school-based health and well-being initiatives.
• Support transition planning and student support leadership activities.
