Job summary

First Student in Owen Sound, Ontario, seeks an experienced Driver Trainer to develop and mentor the next generation of safe school bus drivers. The role includes classroom and behind-the-wheel training, onboarding support, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

The position requires a Class B (or higher) license, strong communication and coaching skills, and a proven safety track record.

Qualifications

• Valid Class B license with appropriate endorsements.
• Minimum 3 years of school bus or commercial driving experience.
• Clean driver abstract with no preventable collisions or moving violations in past 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom, skills and on the road training for new school bus drivers.
• Provide refresher, remedial, and upgrade training to existing drivers as required.
• Support the driver candidate pipeline through onboarding and training activities.
• Coach and mentor drivers focusing on safe driving and regulatory compliance.
• Evaluate driver performance and maintain training records.
