Job summary

First Student, Inc. in Ajax, Ontario is hiring a Part Time School Bus Driver to start students' days with morning pickup and transport them home after classes. You will safely transport students, assist with boarding, and maintain order on the bus while following all safety rules.

No experience is required; we provide expert training to help you become a safe and professional driver. The role offers a guaranteed minimum hours and a competitive hourly rate with opportunities across 540 locations

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• G license for at least 1 year.
• Willing to complete training provided by First Student.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school and activities.
• Supervise boarding and unloading at stops; assist students with seatbelts and mobility aids.
• Maintain order on the bus to prevent distractions.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections (brakes, lights, tires, emergency exits).
• Report mechanical issues promptly and keep the bus clean and sanitary.
• Obey all traffic laws and company safety standards.
• Communicate with parents, school staff, and dispatch about student behavior or delays.
• Demonstrate leadership and customer service skills.
