Job summary

St. John’s Academy Shawnigan Lake Society is seeking an experienced Finance professional to join the Finance department.

The ideal candidate will maintain accurate Sage records, prepare year-end statements, and manage accounts payable and tuition-related accounting with a strong attention to detail. Located on Vancouver Island, the school requires a team-oriented individual who can handle multiple tasks, file quarterly EHT and GST/PST, and communicate financial concepts clearly to staff.

Qualifications

• Education: College Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of accounting or financial management experience, preferably in education or non-profit setting
• Proficiency with Sage and MS Office; ability to work in a team and manage deadlines

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records in Sage for all entities
• Prepare year-end financial statements, working papers, and reconciliations
• File annual reports for all entities and respond to fiscal year-end inquiries
• Prepare and file quarterly and annual Employer Health Tax (EHT) payments and filings
