Job summary

Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC) in Peterborough, Ontario, is seeking a Data Analyst in the Human Resources department. The role focuses on ensuring accurate HR data across timekeeping, scheduling, payroll and HRIS, while shaping reporting and dashboards for workforce management.

You will partner with HR leaders and System Consultants in a fast-paced hospital setting, driving data-driven decisions and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma/degree in Business, HR, Logistics, IT or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of experience working closely with HR systems and large data sets.
• Lean Management training; CHRP or pursuing CHRP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead data quality initiatives for HR data ensuring accuracy in timecard, payroll, and scheduling data.
• Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to support workforce management decisions.
• Act as a second-tier resource for leaders on system usability and data issues.

HOURS OF WORK:

The stated hours of work are approximate as schedules are subject to change with the operational needs of the Health Centre. Changes made to hours of work will follow the terms of the applicable collective agreement, company policy and/or legislation.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources and working closely with System Consultants, and various internal stakeholders. Data Quality Analyst is a key member of the Scheduling team and leads data integrity work ensuring timecard data is accurate, reliable and usable. This role will use their analytical mindset to monitor and identify issues with data and to then develop and roll out process/practice changes to improve data accuracy. The Data Quality Analyst must have knowledge of various HR and related systems as they relate to the HR landscape, i.e. time keeping, call out, scheduling, payroll, HRIS. This role is also responsible for acting as a 2nd tier resource for leaders in all aspects of their user experience. Data Quality Analyst will lead the design and maintenance of reports and dashboards to support decision making related to workforce management at all levels of the organization.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

• Post-secondary Diploma / Degree in Business, Human Resources, Logistics, IT or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
• 3-5 years of experience working closely with HR systems, and large data sets
• Lean Management training
• In pursuit of CHRP or completion of CHRP (preferred)

WHO YOU ARE:

• Demonstrated understanding of HR processes and data, including collective agreement requirements, and scheduling practices
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Previous experience building, maintaining and analyzing dashboards
• Previous exposure to project-related activities through active participation in system-related projects
• Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships while resolving difficult issues
• Strong focus on customer service and technology
• Superior problem solving and decision-making sills
• Thorough knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint required
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to reprioritize tasks
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple, conflicting priorities
• Strong understanding of collective agreements in a hospital environment
• Experience in quality improvement initiatives or Lean project work
