Job summary

Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is seeking a Scheduler to coordinate and schedule Community Health Workers (Home Support Workers) in accordance with established policies, client care plans and applicable collective agreements. The role includes outside of work on-call duties.

Reporting to the Home Support Services Manager or Coordinator, you will ensure coverage, adapt to changing needs and support a high standard of care across communities within the region.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 with course work in health care and scheduling experience or an equivalent combination.
• Proven proficient computer skills; ability to communicate effectively and organize work.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule Community Health Workers (Home Support Workers) per policies, client care plans and collective agreements.
• Perform on-call duties outside of normal hours.

Job description

Come work as a Scheduler with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)!

Reporting to the Home Support Services Manager or Coordinator, the Scheduler coordinates and schedules Community Health Workers (Home Support Workers) in accordance with established policies and procedures, client care plans and applicable collective agreements. Performs outside of work on-call duties.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.

As per Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections. Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks. For all new hires and appointments to Vancouver Coastal Health, you will be asked to provide this information as part of the onboarding process.
