Howe Sound Pulp & Paper is seeking to fill the position of Scaffolder. This is a permanent full-time job located in Port Mellon, BC. As a member of the Maintenance team, you will prioritize safety while addressing production and maintenance requirements. While collaborating with others, much of your work will be independent, ensuring accuracy and safety in all tasks.

General Responsibilities:

1. Erection and dismantling of scaffolds
2. Providing safe, secure access to areas both indoors and outdoors
3. Climbing heights and conducting work with proper safety restraints
4. Inspecting scaffold equipment for safety and functionality
5. Following blueprints and specifications to build scaffolds accurately
6. Sorting and organizing scaffolding yard
7. Performing other activities as directed

Skills and Assets:

1. Familiarity with Cuplock and Allround systems
2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
3. Ability to work in a team environment and independently
4. Previous experience with scaffolding on industrial sites

Qualifications:

1. Certification from a recognized Scaffolding Training Provider (combined with experience)
2. Carpentry Red Seal is regarded as valuable

Compensation and Benefits:

• Hourly rate of $48.66 as per the Howe Sound Labour Agreement
• Overtime compensation per the Howe Sound Labour Agreement
• Comprehensive benefits package including extended health/dental coverage and pension
