Job summary

InSync Systems is seeking a Senior SAP RISE Solution Architect for a 12-month contract in Calgary, Alberta, with hybrid work. The role focuses on migrating to RISE with SAP, assessing the current landscape, and guiding deployment decisions.

The candidate will lead or contribute to readiness activities, communicate complex SAP architecture choices to stakeholders, and identify risk early in the project. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with SAP migrations, especially RISE with SAP.
• Experience with Agile delivery or hybrid Agile/Waterfall governance models.
• SAP certifications relevant to S/4HANA architecture or RISE.
• Hands-on experience with RISE with SAP migrations.
• Strong working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA (public/private cloud editions).
• Familiarity with SAP Readiness Check, Process Discovery, and related tooling.
• Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure fundamentals, particularly Azure.

Job description

We are looking for a Senior SAP RISE Solution Architect for a 12-month contract position, with possible extensions in Calgary, Alberta. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

This position is hybrid. 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week. It is NOT a remote role.

Role Description

We are seeking an experienced SAP RISE Solution Architect to support a client engagement involving a migration to RISE with SAP. We're looking for an architect who can walk in, quickly understand the current landscape, and provide credible, senior-level guidance through the phases of the migration.

Responsibilities

• Assess the Company’s current SAP landscape (currently Azure-hosted) and produce a clear picture of technical readiness for RISE, including custom code, integrations, and data footprint.
• Advise on and help select the appropriate RISE deployment model (public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid) based on the client's customization needs, risk tolerance, and business goals.
• Lead or contribute to SAP Readiness Check analysis and translate technical findings into business-friendly recommendations for client stakeholders.
• Able to explain complex architecture tradeoffs to both IT and non-technical business stakeholders.
• Identify risks early (custom code volume, integration complexity, data migration scope) and flag them before they become costly surprises later in the project.

Required Skills and Experience

• Prior experience with SAP migrations in the construction, engineering, or capital projects sector is a strong asset.
• Experience working alongside Agile delivery teams or hybrid Agile/Waterfall governance models.
• SAP certifications relevant to S/4HANA architecture or RISE (e.g., SAP Certified Technology Associate, S/4HANA architecture credentials).
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with RISE with SAP migrations.
• Strong working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA (public and private cloud editions) and the technical differences between deployment models.
• Familiarity with SAP Readiness Check, Process Discovery, and related SAP transition tooling.
• Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure fundamentals, particularly Azure, given the client's current hosting environment.
• Experience evaluating and rationalizing custom code.
