Job Description: SAP HCM (Human Capital Management) & Payroll Consultant

Position Details

• Job Title: SAP Functional Consultant
• Client: City of Toronto
• Work Mode: Hybrid (Remote + Onsite)
• Location: Union Station Office, Toronto, 61 Front Street West, East Wing, 4th Floor
• Start Date: April 2025
• End Date: October 2025 (Initial 6 months, with a possibility of a 6-month extension)
• Project Duration: 6 Months (with a potential extension)
• No of Positions: 1
• No of Submissions: Maximum of 3 resumes per role
• Application Deadline: February 26, 2025, 12:00 PM (Local Toronto Time)
• Hours per Day: 7 Hours
• Hours per Week: 35 Hours (Monday to Friday, regular business hours)

Role Overview

The SAP Functional Consultant will work within the Technology Services Division of the City of Toronto. Responsibilities include documenting AS-IS SAP solutions, focusing on SAP HCM, ESS/Client portal, payroll configurations, and workflow customizations. The role requires expertise in SAP Enterprise Portal, HCM modules, and integrations. The consultant will troubleshoot production issues and resolve technical challenges.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

• SAP Enterprise Portal Administration & Customization: Managing roles, navigation, HCM Forms, iViews, Adobe Forms, Workflows, and ESS/Client portlets.
• SAP HCM Modules Expertise: Configuration knowledge of OM, PA, TM, and Payroll.
• Payroll Configuration (Canada Payroll): Experience in wage types, payroll schemas, tax calculations, benefits, and executing payroll runs.
• Documentation & Reverse Engineering: Ability to document SAP HCM configurations and specifications.
• Development Knowledge: Basic understanding of ABAP, SAP Fiori, Java, Middleware tools, and WebDynpro.
• Planning & Communication: Strong written and verbal skills for stakeholder interaction and requirement gathering.
• Problem-solving & Troubleshooting: Ability to analyze and resolve production issues efficiently.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Configuring and integrating SAP ESS/Client and Adobe Forms.
• Knowledge of eTime and substitute management in SAP HCM.
• System security roles, permissions, and administration.
• System testing, including unit, integration, and performance testing.

Additional Information

• The consultant will work onsite two days per week at the Union Station office.
• Shortlisting of up to three candidates for interviews.
• Minimum of 70% in technical evaluation required to proceed.
• Evaluation includes proposal, interviews, and cost assessment.
