Role : Senior SAP Ariba Techno-Functional Consultant

Location : Hybrid – 2-3 days onsite

• Estimated Start Date : March 10, 2025
• Duration : 4 months, with a potential 6-month extension

The City of Toronto has launched a major business transformation of its purchase to pay family of SAP Ariba modules to align with the financial system transformation which is currently working on the implementation of SAP S / 4HANA. The assignment will rely heavily on a deep techno-functional understanding of the Buying and Invoicing, Sourcing, Contracts, Supplier Lifecycle Performance and Spend Analysis modules as well as integration with SAP ECC and S / 4HANA. The ideal resource would also have recent experience in integration of the Buying & Invoicing, Contracts, SLP, and Spend modules with SAP S / 4HANA. The specialism being sought would also include a thorough understanding of supply chain management as focused on the purchase to pay process targeting indirect spend

Assignment Duties :

The SAP Ariba Techno-Functional consultant will support the Supply Chain Transformation program in the functional design, development, and formulation of functional specifications needed to inform a best practice solution, and integration with SAP and non SAP solutions for the identified business process stream, to help develop the 'To Be' solution following best practices and technical configuration and development of SAP Ariba Buying and Invoicing, Contracts and Supplier Lifecycle Performance.

The SAP Ariba Techno-Functional Analyst should be able to translate typical procurement business processes into consumable functional specifications that showcase the functionality of the SAP Ariba family of modules. This includes validating requirements, fit / gap assessments, and advising on enhancements to user stories that will best leverage the standard configurations of the modules. More specifically, the successful candidate will be well-versed in achieving the below list of deliverables :

1.Configure the SAP Ariba solution suite with knowledge of workbooks and SAP configuration best practices adhering to standard Ariba functionality.

2. Integrate SAP Ariba Buying and Invoicing, Contracts and Supplier Lifecycle Performance with SAP S / 4HANA

3.Maintain Ariba workflow and approval rules functionality in SAP Ariba as it relates to the corporate organizational hierarchy, Ariba requirements and align the workflow to work in harmony with the detailed design of S / 4HANA.

4.Support the design and refresh of the SAP Ariba Spend Analysis module including building out capacity of the tool to meet new City requirements and Category Management

5.Lead the design, development and configuration of the SAP Ariba integration with SAP S / 4HANA.

6.Manage and advise on data conversion / migration / loading / cleansing / extraction and validation activities across SAP Ariba Modules.

7. Support the design, development, and configuration of subprojects to introduce new functionality in the SAP Ariba modules that are currently in use (Sourcing, Contracts, SLP, Spend Analysis) as part of continuous improvement and maturing the use of the system

8.Conduct workshops with the business and IT teams to define a detailed design of the To-Be solutions to align with best practices and standard SAP S / 4HANA type business processes.

0.Participate in all the phases of a project, including project planning, change management, communications, testing, training, go live and post go live support activities

10.Manage and provide guidance on the creation of custom security groups by combining standard groups to establish appropriate role-based permissions, ensuring scalability and alignment with business needs.

Mandatory Technical Requirements

The following mandatory must be demonstrated in the proposal for the candidate to be considered further. Failure to meet the mandatory requirement will result in the proposal being declared non-compliant and disqualified from further consideration.

Must have a valid SAP Certification for SAP Certified Associate Implementation Consultant - SAP Ariba Procurement. As SAP Ariba certifications expire every 12 months, the certification must show it is still valid and not expired. Proponents must include proof of meeting the mandatory requirement with their proposal in the form of a copy of the proposed candidate's e-certificate issued by SAP Ariba showing the issue date and expiry date with their proposal submission in order for the candidate to be considered further.

Qualifications

Education

• University / Community College degree in Computer Science / Electronic Engineering or equivalent is a definite asset.

Business & Testing Expertise

• Demonstrated clear understanding of Business Requirements, Statement of Work, and Test Strategies as they apply to projects.
• Demonstrated experience and capacity to clearly articulate functional specification documents that are readily consumable for quick translation into technical configuration and development.
• Extensive QA and test experience in all facets of testing (unit, functional, integration, system, regression, penetration, performance, and user acceptance testing) is a definite asset.
• Strong knowledge of testing methodologies and experience in writing test documentation; experience in tracking problems and defects within a large project.
• Experience demonstrates a strong understanding of analytics.
• Experience demonstrates highly developed interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication, with a demonstrated ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and provide effective knowledge transfer as required.
• Ability to work independently under minimum supervision and to plan and execute tasks as well as within a team environment.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies such as SAP Activate and / or PMBOK (PMP is an asset).

SAP Ariba Experience

• Extensive experience implementing and configuring Procurement business processes in SAP Ariba Buying & Invoicing.
• Extensive experience implementing and configuring Procurement business processes in SAP Ariba upstream modules (Sourcing, Contracts, SLP, Spend Analysis).
• Extensive experience integrating SAP Ariba Contracts, SLP, and B&I with S / 4HANA and / or SAP ECC.
• Experience integrating SAP Ariba B&I Services PO functionality with SAP S / 4HANA for Services is an asset.
• Extensive experience in at least three large full-cycle implementations of SAP Ariba, preferably integrating with SAP S / 4HANA and / or SAP ECC.
• Extensive experience configuring SAP Buying & Invoicing with S / 4HANA is a strong benefit.
• Extensive experience designing the SAP Ariba suite of modules, including but not limited to :

Sourcing

• Contracts
• Buying and Invoicing (catalogues)
• Spend Analysis
• Experience designing the SAP Ariba suite of modules (Sourcing, Contracts, Supplier Lifecycle Performance (SLP / SIPM), Buying and Invoicing (catalogues), and Spend Analysis) for use within a Category Management program.
• Extensive experience with Ariba Business Network.
• Demonstrated experience with the above tools and technologies is backed by professional certification.

Technical Capabilities

• SAP Certification with additional SAP Ariba modules (in addition to Procurement / Buying & Invoicing) such as Sourcing, Contracts, Spend Visibility, and SLP, and S / 4HANA is an asset.
• Proficiency and working knowledge of SAP S / 4HANA / ECC 6.0, specifically in the Area of Source to Pay for goods and services.
• Extensive experience configuring SAP modules, including :
