Job summary

Bimbo Canada is seeking a capable Sanitation Supervisor to lead daily sanitation operations across one of its Canadian plants. The role requires coordinating with safety, quality and maintenance teams to ensure GMP, SSOP and SOP compliance while maintaining a safe, clean and efficient work environment.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of supervisory experience in unionized food manufacturing, solid problem-solving and communication skills, and a proven ability to build and mentor a team across

Qualifications

  • Relevant post-secondary education.
  • 3-5 years plus in Supervisory experience with some experience in a unionized facility.
  • Experience in a unionized food, dairy, beverage or packaged goods industry is an asset.
  • Experience with HACCP requirements, sanitation procedures, cleaning systems, chemicals, and health & safety.
  • British Retail Consortium BRC experience would be an asset.
  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Effective communication skills to lead, motivate, coach, mentor and resolve employee conflict.
  • Able to manage and build a team independently.
  • Well established organizational skills to manage multiple tasks.
  • Self-starter with good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain safe and clean work environment by educating and directing employees on the use of equipment and resources while maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Proactive in the elimination of workplace accidents and injuries.
  • Maintain quality and legislative requirements by adhering to GMP, SSOP, SOP and BRC.
  • Responsible and accountable for tracking daily visual and swab audits, informing appropriate individuals of deficiencies with feedback.
  • Plan, direct, engage and understand daily and non-daily sanitation operations while anticipating and troubleshooting sanitation problems.
  • Complete sanitation plan by scheduling and assigning employees, establishing priorities, revising schedules, and resolving problems.
  • Oversee dismantling, cleaning, reassembly and sanitizing of equipment and utensils in this plant environment.
  • Plan, conduct, and document monthly departmental Health & Safety, Quality Assurance, and Sanitation issues/changes.
  • Must be knowledgeable to follow GMPs, Food Safety and Health & Safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

The annual salary range for applicants is: $70,000 - $85,000, which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other factors.
