Job summary

ADF Group in Terrebonne, Canada, is seeking a coating technician for steel fabrication projects. The role involves painting steel parts, masking per drawings, and adjusting spray parameters within a 4‑ or 5‑day week, with evening shifts from 3:15 p.m. to 1:45 a.m.

Wages range from $25.88/hour to $36.43/hour, plus a $1.75/hour evening shift premium. Multiple start times (5:00–8:00 a.m.) and 4‑day 10‑hour schedules are available, with benefits including group insurance, a pension plan, on‑site gym

Qualifications

• Languages: French and English; English is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Obtain supplies to perform work per project requirements.
• Mask according to workshop drawings.
• Mix coating product with manufacturer ratio and add thinner to achieve correct viscosity.
• Paint steel parts according to coating instructions.
• Adjust pressure and select appropriate spray equipment.
• Monitor environmental parameters as needed.
• Follow the roadmap, and call the inspector when an inspection point is identified.
• Make corrections (touch-ups) and repairs when indicated.
• Inform foreman of problems, defects or non-conformities.
• Complete the coating product declaration form.
• Follow surface coating procedures and use the proper forms.
• Comply with Quality Management System requirements and related forms.
• Apply industry best practices to improve operational performance.

Job description

• Regular 5-day workweek (Monday to Friday), or a compressed 4-day schedule of 10-hour shifts (Monday to Thursday).
• Multiple schedule options are available, offering flexibility in start times (between 5:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m.) and corresponding end times.

Evening Shift (Monday to Thursday):

• Monday to Thursday, from 3:15 p.m. to 1:45 a.m.

Hourly wage ranging from $25.88/hour to $36.43/hour and Evening shift premium: $1.75/hour

Contributing to this role means:

• Obtaining the appropriate supplies to perform the work according to the tasks to be carried out and the project requirements;
• Masking according to workshop drawings;
• Mixing the coating product with the paint ratio recommended by the manufacturer and adding the appropriate thinner. Obtaining the correct viscosity;
• Painting steel parts according to the project's coating instructions;
• Adjusting the pressure and choosing the appropriate spray equipment;
• Controlling environmental parameters as needed;
• Following and completing the roadmap, calling the inspector when an inspection point is identified;
• When indicated, make corrections (touch-ups) and repairs.
• Inform the foreman of any problems, defects, necessary corrections, or non-conformities;
• Complete the coating product declaration form;
• Follow the surface coating procedure and use the appropriate forms;
• Comply with the requirements of the corporate quality management system (Quality Management Manual, Work Instructions, and applicable forms);
• Apply industry best practices and effective methods to ensure the improvement of our operational performance;
• Any other related tasks.

Required professional profile:
