Job summary

Paracel Laboratories Ltd. in Hamilton is seeking a full-time Sample Custodian to act as the frontline liaison between clients and lab operations. You will oversee the life cycle of samples within the Sample Management group, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely handling while delivering excellent customer service.

The role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and teamwork. On-site work at 351 Nash Road North, Unit 9B, Hamilton, ON.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma; post-secondary education is desired but not essential.
• Experience in Inventory Control or Materials Management is an asset.
• Strong communication skills to support client interactions and internal coordination.
• Organized and detail-oriented with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient computer skills, MS Office; data entry experience is an asset.
• Demonstrated customer service orientation and proactive problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Unpack and inspect client and courier-delivered samples to ensure integrity and verify details.
• Greet client walk-ins and answer incoming calls, providing assistance or directing inquiries.
• Communicate with clients to assist with sample submissions and issues.
• Use LIMS for sample login, label generation, and tracking.
• Label containers accurately and distribute them to designated laboratory areas.
• Coordinate with lab supervisors on priority samples and special requirements.
• Manage sample storage, retrieval, and disposal as delegated by Lab Manager.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
