Job summary

The Research and Productivity Council (RPC) in Fredericton, NB is hiring a Sample Login Technician-Microbiology Lab Assistant for a full-time, permanent role. You will work out of our Fredericton location and report to the Receiving Supervisor, Shipping & Receiving.

You will log submissions, coordinate with analytical teams and support client interactions in both English and French, perform clerical duties, assist with media and sample prep, and help maintain a clean, organized lab environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; some post-secondary study preferred.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluent in English and French would be an asset.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Organized and able to work independently.
• Previous lab experience or similar environment is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Receive and log sample submissions from clients.
• Coordinate with analytical departments on requirements and issues.
• Assist with client interactions from Reception and Shipping & Receiving in French and English.
• Perform general clerical duties and maintain lab housekeeping.
• Prepare media and samples for analysis.

SAMPLE LOGIN TECHNICIAN - MICROBIOLOGY LAB ASSISTANT

The Research and Productivity Council (RPC) is NB's provincial research organization, a research & technology organization that provides analytical and applied research services. In business since 1962, we serve over 1000 clients annually from our locations in Fredericton and Moncton, New Brunswick.

We are recruiting to fill a full-time permanent position for a Sample Login Technician-Microbiology Lab Assistant who will work out of our Fredericton location and report to the Receiving Supervisor- Shipping & Receiving.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Receive and log sample submissions from our clients
• Interact both with clients and our analytical departments with respect to analytical requirements and issues.
• Assist with customer interactions coming from Reception and/or Shipping& Receiving, in French and English.
• General clerical duties
• Lab housekeeping
• Media preparation
• Sample and analysis preparation

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school graduate with some post-secondary preferred.
• Aptitude for multi-tasking and working effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Fluent in both official languages would be considered an asset
• Knowledge of MS Office
• Organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to solve problems and work independently
• Previous experience working in a lab, or similar environment would be considered an asset

Hours of work are 8:15 to 4:30 Monday through Friday.
