Job summary

Canada Life in Toronto, ON, is seeking a Sales Support Associate to partner with the sales team and support the service area daily. You will handle proposals, renewals, and broker contracting with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.

Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication in English; French is a plus.
  • Post-secondary education.
  • Strong critical thinking with an analytical approach.
  • Adept with numbers, formulas and data interpretation.
  • Understanding end-to-end sales process and impact on next steps.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel; ability to learn other software (RS4, ARC, Salesforce).
  • Proficient in MS Office 365 (One Note, One Drive, Word, Teams, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with multi-tasking ability.
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving, work independently and in a team.
  • Knowledge of the group benefits industry is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the sales process and participate in processing the business with excellence.
  • Work with systems required for sales and renewal accountabilities.
  • Coordinate with Sales to ensure proposals are processed and released timely to partners.
  • Understand renewals and participate in preparing renewals.
  • Process Agent of Record changes.
  • Assist new advisors with broker contracting.
  • Raise opportunities to the sales team.
  • Provide back-up support to other team positions as needed.
  • Take on ad-hoc assignments when required.

This role works closely with our sales team but is expected to provide support to our service area daily. The Sales Support Associate must be able to interact with these constituents including our advisors in an educated and informed manner. They must understand the "why" behind the "how" and have strong critical thinking skills.

What you will do
  • Ability to understand the sales process and participate in the processing of the business with excellence
  • Ability to work with all systems required for the Sales Support Associate accountabilities of the sales and renewal process
  • Works with Sales team to ensure that proposals are processed and released in a complete and timely manner to our business partners
  • Understand the renewal process and participate preparing renewals is key
  • Processing Agent of Record changes
  • Helping new advisors set up broker contracting
  • Acknowledging and raising any opportunities to the sales team
  • Provide back-up support to other positions on the team as required
  • Willingness to take on ad-hoc assignments when needed
What you will bring

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail is key to succeed in this role
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of the group benefits industry would be considered an asset.

The base salary for this position is between $45,600 - $68,400 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
