Position Summary

Under the general direction of the Onsite Leadership team, this position supports the growth of the onsite business by driving profitable sales growth and customer service through understanding.

Job Responsibilities (You Will)
  • Interact, respond, and follow up with customers daily, promptly responding to all inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Sell a diversified line of products over-the-counter, promoting Private Brands, Technical Services, and ecommerce channels whenever possible, and be able to provide an understanding of the Grainger Value Proposition to customers.
  • Process customer orders through the computer system, ensuring accuracy and prompt delivery.
  • Maintain a well-rounded knowledge of products sold, including completing required training programs.
  • Support warehouse functions and other branch support duties as required.
  • Assist in driving the achievement of key operational metrics in customer satisfaction, sales, safety, and operational improvements using available tools and reporting.
  • Utilize sound judgment and best practices to resolve complex customer concerns.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) Team meetings and initiatives as required.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to personal safety and workplace safety.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed.
Education/Experience (You Have)
  • 1 to 2 years of previous customer service experience.
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic and personal commitment to getting the job done.
  • Focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Knowledge of industrial and/or safety products is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license is an asset.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

The role may require attendance at customer sites, which could involve drug and alcohol screening policies. You may need to comply with safety requirements, including wearing PPE such as a hard hat and N95 mask, and being clean-shaven for mask fitting.
