Job summary

Spade Recruiting is seeking a Service Technician to keep agricultural machinery in top condition. Based in Alberta, you’ll diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of equipment, travel to local farms for on-site service, and use John Deere software to run diagnostics and upgrades.

You’ll join a collaborative team with strong training commitments, paid time off from 3 weeks, health benefits, employer‑matched RRSP, tool allowance, and sponsorship opportunities toward Apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Certificate – Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) or Agricultural Equipment Technician (AET).
• 4+ years in agriculture equipment repair or related field; John Deere experience asset.
• Proficiency in diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical systems, and diagnostic tools.
• People-focused with strong customer service and teamwork.
• Soft skills: detail orientation, time management, independence, adaptability.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk long periods.
• Valid driver's license for travel to service calls.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Education: Journeyperson Certificate – Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) or Agricultural Equipment Technician (AET).
• Experience: 4+ years in agriculture equipment repair or a related field. Previous John Deere agricultural equipment and product experience is an asset.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and computer-based diagnostic tools.
• People-Focused: Team player with a friendly, professional attitude and focus on customer service.
• Soft Skills: Attention to Detail, strong time management, ability to work independently, and adaptability.
• Physical Capability: Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs with long periods of standing and walking.
• Valid Driver's License: You'll need this for travel to service calls.
