McCain Fertilizer, a division of McCain Produce Inc., is seeking a results-oriented Sales Representative for the New Perth, PEI territory. You will manage existing accounts, grow sales, provide agronomic support, and collaborate with internal teams to fulfill orders.

The role emphasizes customer relationships, agricultural knowledge, and the ability to travel within the territory. Post-secondary education in Agriculture or related field is required, with CCA designation considered an asset.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Agriculture, Business, or a related discipline.
• Knowledge and experience in agriculture required.
• Previous sales experience in retail crop input or the agricultural sector preferred.
• Proven track record in developing and maintaining client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a portfolio of existing customer accounts and identify opportunities to maximize sales growth and profitability.
• Focus on customer relationships to grow the business with both existing and potential customers, using a strong customer‑centric approach.
• Provide technical agronomic support and product recommendations based on best management practices.
• Create and maintain all records and reports necessary to effectively manage the business.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with internal teams, including sales, administration, and operations, to coordinate order fulfillment and resolve client issues.
• Monitor market conditions, competitor activities, and crop trends to inform sales strategies and customer outreach.
• Support and promote safe working practices in compliance with McCain’s safety standards and relevant provincial legislation.

About The Role.

McCain Fertilizer, a division of McCain Produce Inc., is a leading distributor of crop inputs, including blended fertilizer, pesticides, biologicals, and other related inputs, with multiple locations in Atlantic Canada and the State of Maine. We are seeking a results-oriented team player to join us as a Sales Representative in our New Perth, PEI territory.

The successful candidate will focus on selling crop inputs, building strong relationships within the farming community, and providing technical support to support sustainable agricultural practices. Integrity, vision, leadership, and passion are essential for success.

What You’ll Be Doing.

• Manage and grow a portfolio of existing customer accounts and identify opportunities to maximize sales growth and profitability.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful.

• Post‑secondary education in Agriculture, Business, or a related discipline.
• Knowledge and experience in agriculture required.
• Previous sales experience in retail crop input or the agricultural sector preferred.
• Proven track record in developing and maintaining client relationships.
• Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) designation, or the ability to obtain the designation, considered an asset.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Confident, enthusiastic, self‑motivated, and able to work with a sense of urgency.
• Willingness to travel within the assigned territory.

Compensation Package

$65,500.00 - $70,000.

The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education and training, and other organizational needs. This posting is for an existing vacancy.
