• Provide procurement, commissioning, qualification, validation, and startup support.
• Lead post-project reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support decarbonization efforts including solar energy integration and sustainable storage.
• Define and maintain storage and grading station maintenance standards.
• Lead global innovation initiatives in grading stations and quality technologies.
• Drive global Storage Intelligence, including digitalization of storage control systems.

About The Role.

The Global Potato Storage & Ag Operations Design Lead plays a critical role in advancing McCain’s global agriculture strategy by supporting potato storage and agricultural operations excellence across regions. This position will lead the development and governance of global design standards, drive capital project excellence, support decarbonization initiatives, and champion innovation and digital transformation in potato storage, grading, and raw receiving operations. Working closely with cross-functional and cross-regional teams, the role will help deliver key business objectives aligned with McCain Agriculture and 2030 strategic priorities.

What You’ll Be Doing.

• Own and maintain McCain’s global design standards and construction guidelines for potato storage facilities, raw receiving and potato handling systems, quality assessment laboratories, and grading stations.
• Support capital project execution from initiation through handover, ensuring adherence to project management and engineering best practices.
• Develop and support key project deliverables, including Project Charters, User Requirement Specifications (URS), and Basis of Design (BOD) documents.
• Ensure implementation of the Project Safety Management System (PSMS) across applicable projects.
• Provide procurement, commissioning, qualification, validation, and startup support to maximize project success and operational readiness.
• Lead post-project reviews and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen future project execution.
• Support regional strategies and action plans focused on potato storage decarbonization, including solar energy integration and sustainable storage solutions.
• Own and maintain McCain’s Potato Storage Decarbonization Solutions Portfolio and associated standards.
• In partnership with Smart and Sustainable Farming stakeholders, enable regional efforts to optimize and decarbonize raw haulage operations.
• Define, standardize, and maintain potato storage and grading station maintenance standards, operating procedures, and best practices.
• Lead global innovation initiatives related to grading stations and raw quality assessment technologies.
• Drive global Potato Storage Intelligence initiatives, including storage control system digitalization and operational technology advancement.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across agriculture, engineering, operations, procurement, and sustainability functions to drive strategic outcomes and deliver real business impact.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Agriculture, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in engineering, design, and capital project management.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a complex environment.
• Strong knowledge of agricultural operations, with specific expertise in potato storage systems and related infrastructure preferred.
• Experience developing design standards, construction specifications, or operational best practices.
• Understanding of project lifecycle management, capital project execution, and commissioning processes.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
• Positive leadership approach with the ability to influence across multiple levels of the organization.
• Ability to work effectively within a global, cross-functional environment.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required, estimated at approximately 15-20%.
• Valid passport with immediate ability to travel without restriction.

Compensation Package: $85,500.00 - $114,000.00 . CAD annually + Bonus Eligibility
