Job description

We are recruiting a Sales Manager - Canada (excluding Quebec) for one of our clients, an international, family-owned company specialized in creative lighting and decorative solutions for municipalities, public spaces, shopping destinations, and private developments.

Based in Toronto, Ontario, you will play a key role in accelerating the company’s commercial development across Canada outside Quebec, taking over an existing customer portfolio while opening new growth opportunities.

Missions

As Sales Manager, you are responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth across Canada, excluding Quebec.

You define and implement the sales action plan, identify priority markets and customer segments, and build a strong pipeline of opportunities. You directly lead commercial development in Ontario while identifying relevant partners or resources to support growth in other provinces.

You take ownership of existing customer relationships and develop long-term partnerships with municipalities, Business Improvement Areas, shopping centers, real estate developers, and other strategic customers.

You manage the entire sales cycle, from prospecting and identifying upcoming projects to needs analysis, proposal development, tender responses, presentations, negotiations, and contract signature. This role involves complex, project-based sales with long decision-making cycles and a significant administrative component.

Working closely with design, engineering, production, logistics, marketing, and administrative teams based in Europe, you coordinate the resources required to build competitive proposals and successfully deliver projects.

You also manage and coordinate the small local Canadian team and provide regular reporting on the sales pipeline, forecasts, priorities, and market developments.

This position includes regular travel across Canada outside Quebec, customer visits, and participation in professional events.

Profile

You bring strong experience in B2B business development within the Canadian market, with a proven ability to sell complex, project-based solutions involving long sales cycles and multiple stakeholders. Experience working with municipalities, public-sector organizations, Business Improvement Areas, shopping centers, real estate developers, or institutional customers would be particularly relevant. A background in architectural or public lighting, urban furniture, public-space development, construction, building materials, infrastructure solutions, or installation services would be a strong advantage.

You are comfortable managing the full sales process independently, including prospecting, tender responses, presentations, negotiations, forecasting, and reporting. You combine strong commercial skills with the administrative rigor required to manage complex projects.

Autonomous, proactive, and entrepreneurial, you are comfortable taking initiative in a decentralized environment while maintaining close coordination with international teams.

You build trusted, long-term customer relationships through active listening, reliability, and follow-through. You are adaptable, persistent, and able to remain effective throughout long and sometimes uncertain decision-making processes.

You have experience coordinating or managing a small team.

You speak English fluently. Knowledge of French would be a strong advantage, while Spanish would be an additional asset.

Why join our client?

You will join an established, financially stable, family-owned international company recognized for its creativity, technical expertise, and ability to deliver distinctive projects worldwide.

This position offers a high level of autonomy and the opportunity to make a direct impact on the company’s development in Canada, while benefiting from the support of experienced international teams.
