Job summary

Thorens is seeking a Business Development Director in Montreal to drive growth by identifying new opportunities, building strategic accounts, and managing the full sales cycle. You will act as a trusted partner to clients, delivering tailored solutions aligned with their project objectives.

Role requires 5+ years in sales, strong negotiation and relationship-building skills, and bilingual French/English communication.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in sales, business development, or account management.
  • Proven experience selling customized products, services, or solutions.
  • Knowledge of the retail, signage, commercial furniture, restaurant, or hospitality industries is an asset.
  • Strong track record in prospecting and developing new business opportunities.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain long-term business relationships.
  • Experience using a CRM, ideally HubSpot.
  • Bilingual in French and English, written and spoken.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to manage priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Identify clients’ needs and propose tailored solutions aligned with their project objectives.
  • Develop, maintain, and grow a portfolio of strategic accounts.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with decision-makers and key stakeholders within client organizations.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and present proposals, quotations, and responses to requests for proposals (RFPs).
  • Negotiate commercial agreements and close sales.
  • Collaborate closely with the design, estimating, engineering, production, and project management teams.
  • Follow up on ongoing projects to ensure client satisfaction and project success.
  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups and act as the primary point of contact for clients.
  • Participate in trade shows, networking events, and business development activities.
  • Keep opportunity and account information up to date in the CRM.
  • Prepare sales forecasts and contribute to the company’s growth strategies.
  • Provide high-quality after-sales service and foster long-term customer loyalty.

WORK CONDITIONS :
  • Permanent full-time position;
  • Annual salary ranging from $90,000 to $110,000 , depending on experience+ commissions;
  • Group insurance benefits and RRSP program;
  • Group insurance from the start of employment (50% of the premium covered by the employer);
  • RRSP plan with a 3% employer contribution after 6 months;
  • 3 weeks of vacation + holiday break;
