Job Description

Reporting to the Director of A&E Business Development & Engineering, the Sales Engineer provides elite technical expertise as a subject matter expert to solve complex customer challenges related to protecting people, property, and business interests. You will collaborate with sales teams and channel partners to deliver solutions leveraging edge-based neural networks and leading public safety and security technologies.

Responsibilities:
  • Support sales with MSI VS&A brands: Avigilon Unity and Alta (Video & Access Control), Pelco (Video, Calypsa & Videotec)
  • Engage in opportunities with the sales team, providing technical solutions to stakeholders
  • Deliver product demonstrations and technical presentations to decision-makers
  • Provide design consultation including quoting, system design, architecture, bill of materials, and compliance
  • Build and maintain strong customer and partner relationships through thought leadership
  • Act as a conduit for feedback to product management, marketing, and development teams
  • Create training materials, how-to videos, and technical documentation
  • Stay current on MSI products, industry trends, and certifications through ongoing training
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in sales engineering or presales for video/access control products
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and passion for technology
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with knowledge of IP networking, protocols, and security
  • Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines
  • Technical certifications in cloud computing, networking, storage, cybersecurity, or APIs/SDKs are preferred
  • Experience with MSI Video Security & Access Control products is highly desirable
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively
  • Reliable vehicle and valid Canadian driver’s license
  • Ability to lift equipment up to 50 lbs
