Job Summary

The Sales Coordinator is an inside sales professional passionate about selling the sports and recreational experience with a differentiated competitive advantage. They are primarily responsible for uncovering surface sales opportunities and managing bookings, including contracts, spot rentals, public programs, third-party tournaments, birthday parties, and corporate events.

This role supports the entire sales and community outreach process, from promoting the complex’s products and services to maintaining ongoing communication throughout the customer lifecycle.

Accountabilities
Business Goals, Ongoing Planning and Work Management
Sales & Revenue Development
  • Adhere to Canlan Mission, Vision, Culture, policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Manage complex operating systems related to Ice Contracts, Spot Rentals, Public Programs, Tournaments, etc.
  • Develop and promote programs, manage equipment rentals, and develop third-party tournaments and non-traditional rental opportunities.
  • Retain and grow existing contracts and surface sales, including birthday parties and corporate events.
  • Manage contracts, payments, and conduct competitor analysis.
  • Assist in developing and executing sales strategies and community outreach plans.
  • Support the creation of the annual sports surface plan to maximize opportunities.
  • Identify and develop new customer revenue opportunities and maintain relationships.
  • Participate in monthly and quarterly reviews of sales plans.
  • Work as Manager on Duty as scheduled.
Team Development and Customer Relationships
  • Ensure customers have a "best-in-class" experience, fostering satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Manage customer relationships from initial contact through ongoing engagement for revenue maximization and sustainability.
  • Create and execute in-house tournament initiatives and serve as the point of contact for third-party events.
Decision Making and Results
Manage Financial and Administrative Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing contracts and accounts receivable.
  • Provide performance reports and strategic recommendations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Strategic Relationships and Conflict Management
  • Support and collaborate with sports, food & beverage, and sports store departments to meet complex goals.
Abilities, Attributes and Experience
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in business, marketing, or recreation (asset).
  • 1-2 years’ experience in sports/recreational environment (asset).
  • Proven sales closing experience and inside sales background (asset).
  • Excellent listening, customer service, organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong follow-up, tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, database management, online, and social media.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams, including flexible scheduling including weekends and varied shifts.
