Job summary

Staples in Alma, QC is seeking a customer-focused associate to deliver exceptional service and drive sales across furniture, technology and supplies. You will engage with customers, present tailored solutions, and process transactions at the POS while maintaining merchandising standards and a clean, safe store environment.

Team collaboration is essential; you will help meet sales goals, de-escalate difficult situations, and support signange, planograms and stock.

Qualifications

• 3 months to 1 year of retail experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Engage with and sell to customers by offering tailored products and services using selling techniques.
• Handle transactions using POS system, including shipping transactions and marketing tools.
• Calmly de-escalate and assist in complex customer situations or refer to a manager.
• Maintain a clean and safe store environment and ensure demo units are clean and functional.

Job description

• Deliver exceptional customer service and enhance customer engagement and satisfaction.
• Drive sales in the furniture, technology and supplies areas of the store.
• Set and achieve sales and margin goals with store leaders.
• Ensure operational excellence and uphold store brand standards.
• Support all merchandising and signage standards including planograms and stocking.
• Maintain Health & Safety, Asset Protection, and Privacy Policies.

Specifically, you will

• Engage with and sell to all our customers by offering tailored products and services using all tools and techniques available in our selling model to anticipate and meet future customer needs.
• Handle transactions using the Point of Sale (POS) system, including shipping transactions and marketing tools to convert customers.
• Calmly de-escalate and assist in complex customer situations to ensure their concerns are addressed effectively or refer to a manager/supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe store environment by performing tasks like dusting, front-facing products, and ensuring demo units are clean and functional.
