Job summary

Staples Inc. in Midland, Ontario is seeking a Retail Sales Associate to deliver exceptional customer service and drive sales across furniture, technology and supplies.

You will set and achieve sales and margin goals with store leaders and uphold brand standards in every interaction. Key duties include engaging customers with tailored solutions, processing transactions at the POS, de-escalating issues, and maintaining a clean, safe, and well-stocked store.

Qualifications

• 3 months to 1 year of retail experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Engage with and sell to customers by offering tailored products and services using selling techniques.
• Handle transactions at the POS, including shipping and marketing tools.
• Calmly de-escalate and address concerns or refer to a manager when needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe store environment and ensure stock and demo units are presentable.

• Support all merchandising and signage standards including planograms and stocking.
• Maintain Health & Safety, Asset Protection, and Privacy Policies.

Specifically, you will

• Engage with and sell to all our customers by offering tailored products and services using all tools and techniques available in our selling model to anticipate and meet future customer needs.
• Handle transactions using the Point of Sale (POS) system, including shipping transactions and marketing tools to convert customers.
• Calmly de-escalate and assist in complex customer situations to ensure their concerns are addressed effectively or refer to a manager/supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe store environment by performing tasks like dusting, front-facing products, and ensuring demo units are clean and functional.
