Job summary

JAK’s Beer Wine Spirits is seeking a Service Champion to create memorable guest experiences in our liquor retailer. You’ll engage guests, highlight local favourites, and help with checkout and stocking. Training will cover product knowledge and service excellence.

We welcome energy and passion on the floor; evening and weekend availability is a plus. Competitive pay + tips, training certificates, tasting allowances, and benefits are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Customer-first attitude with a friendly, can-do approach.
• Previous retail or hospitality experience preferred.
• Interest in wine, beer, cider, or spirits and eagerness to learn.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform stocking tasks.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Engage guests, recommend local favourites, and suggest pairings.
• Operate till and checkout efficiently with a smile.
• Assist with merchandising, stocking, and stock checks.

What You’ll Be Doing

No two days are exactly the same, but your main focus will always be creating great experiences for our guests:

• Guest Engagement: Chat with customers, recommend local favourites, and suggest food pairings.


• Till & Checkout: Deliver friendly, efficient service at the register.


• Merchandising & Stocking: Receive orders, unload pallets, and keep the sales floor looking great.


• Inventory & Warehouse: Keep product stocked, organized, and ready for guests.

Who We’re Looking For

You don't need to be a master sommelier on day one - we’ll teach you! We’re looking for team members who bring energy and passion to the floor:

• Customer-First Attitude: You enjoy helping people and making connections.


• Retail or Hospitality Experience: Prior customer service experience is a plus.


• Product Curiosity: An interest in wine, craft beer, cider, or spirits (and an eagerness to keep learning!).


• Physical Readiness: Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs and manage physical inventory work.


• Flexibility: Available to work evenings and weekends.
