Job summary

iA Financial Group in Toronto seeks a Sales Associate to support the Asian market. You will promote iA’s investment products—segregated funds, HISAs, and GICs—to independent financial advisors within the MGA network.

Working with the territory Sales Director, you will build advisor relationships, deliver product training, develop portfolio recommendations, and manage activities in Salesforce to drive sales growth.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years in life insurance, investment, or financial services.
  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma; education/experience combo ok.
  • Knowledge of investment products and MGA environment.
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, training, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a business plan with the territory Sales Director.
  • Promote iA’s investment products to independent advisors within the MGA network.
  • Build relationships with advisors, BDMs, and MGA teams.
  • Deliver training on iA products and sales concepts.
  • Develop portfolio recommendations aligned with client needs.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and execute sales campaigns.

As a Sales Associate supporting the Asian market, you will play a key role in promoting iA’s investment products, including segregated funds, high-interest savings accounts (HISAs), and guaranteed investment certificates (GICs), as well as our services to independent financial advisors through the Managing General Agency (MGA) network. Working closely with your territory Sales Director, you will develop and nurture relationships with advisors, Business Development Managers, and administrative teams within MGA offices. Your knowledge of the industry, understanding of client needs, and ability to communicate effectively will contribute directly to business development and sales growth. What you’ll accomplish with us
  • Work closely with the territory Sales Director to develop and execute a business plan designed to achieve sales objectives.
  • Promote iA’s investment products and services to independent financial advisors within the MGA network.
  • Build and maintain strong business relationships with advisors, Business Development Managers, and administrative teams in MGA offices.
  • Develop a strong understanding of advisors’ business models, needs, client segments, and growth opportunities.
  • Deliver training to MGA advisors on iA products and sales concepts.
  • Develop portfolio recommendations that reflect advisors’ and clients’ needs.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and execute sales campaigns supporting iA products and business priorities.
  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities while maintaining regular contact with existing advisors.
  • Use Salesforce to manage business relationships, document activities, identify opportunities, support strategic prospecting, and contribute to sales growth.
  • Maintain regular contact with assigned advisors through in‑person meetings, virtual meetings, telephone calls, and email communications.
  • Develop and share ideas, strategies, and sales concepts that support advisor growth and business development.
  • Review sales reports and business data to identify opportunities and prioritize prospecting activities.
  • Attend conferences, roadshows, presentations, and other organized events, including occasional evening and weekend activities, as required.
  • Contribute to the development of iA’s presence and relationships within the Asian market.
What could accelerate your success in this role
  • Has a minimum of five years of experience in the life insurance, investment, or financial services industry.
  • Holds a bachelor’s degree, college diploma, or a combination of education and relevant industry experience.
  • Has strong knowledge of investment products, financial services distribution, and the independent advisor or MGA environment.
  • Is known for their excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish trusted, long‑term business relationships.
  • Demonstrates strong presentation, facilitation, training, coaching, and communication skills.
  • Has strong organizational and planning skills and can effectively manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Has experience using Salesforce or a comparable customer relationship management platform.
  • Has strong proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and is comfortable creating and delivering professional presentations.
  • Is available to attend occasional conferences, roadshows, presentations, and business events outside regular working hours.
  • Has completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or the Life Licence Qualification Program (LLQP), which would be considered an asset.
  • Has proficiency in Mandarin, which would be considered a significant asset given the role’s focus on developing and supporting relationships within the Asian market.

The typical hiring range for this position is between 65 000$ and 80 000$ CAD per year (+ bonus); the base salary offered may vary depending on the knowledge, skills, years of experience, and internal equity related to the role. This position also offers an attractive incentive compensation program and a comprehensive benefits package.
