Job summary

Staples Canada in Summerside is seeking a customer-focused Sales Associate to deliver outstanding service in our furniture, technology and office supplies sections. You will engage with shoppers, upsell tailored solutions and help maintain a welcoming store environment.

You will process transactions using the POS system, ensure product availability, participate in merchandising and sign-age standards, and support loss prevention and safety policies.

Qualifications

• 3 months to 1 year of prior retail experience (preferred).
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Engage with and sell to all our customers by offering tailored products and services using all tools and techniques available to anticipate and meet future customer needs.
• Handle transactions using the POS system, including shipping transactions and marketing tools to convert customers.
• Calmly de-escalate and assist in complex customer situations to ensure their concerns are addressed effectively or refer to a manager/supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe store environment by performing tasks like dusting, front-facing products, and ensuring demo units are clean and functional.
• Support merchandising and signage standards including planograms and stocking.
