Job summary

Staples in London, ON is seeking a customer-focused retail associate to help customers find the right furniture, technology, and office supplies, and to ring up sales while keeping the store inviting.

You will work with teammates to maintain clean shelves, uphold planograms, and deliver friendly service. Prior retail experience is a plus; strong communication and teamwork are essential. Eligible associates receive discounts and RRSP opportunities.

Qualifications

• 3 months to 1 year of prior retail experience (preferred).
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service and enhance customer engagement and satisfaction.
• Drive sales in the furniture, technology and supplies areas of the store.
• Set and achieve sales and margin goals with store leaders.
• Ensure operational excellence and uphold store brand standards.
• Support merchandising and signage standards including planograms and stocking.
• Maintain Health & Safety, Asset Protection, and Privacy Policies.
• Engage with and sell to all customers by offering tailored products and services using all tools in our selling model.
• Handle transactions using the POS system, including shipping transactions and marketing tools to convert customers.
• De-escalate and assist in complex customer situations or refer to a manager/supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe store environment including dusting, front-facing products, and ensuring demo units are clean and functional.

Specifically, you will

• Engage with and sell to all our customers by offering tailored products and services using all tools and techniques available in our selling model to anticipate and meet future customer needs.
• Handle transactions using the Point of Sale (POS) system, including shipping transactions and marketing tools to convert customers.
• Calmly de-escalate and assist in complex customer situations to ensure their concerns are addressed effectively or refer to a manager/supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe store environment by performing tasks like dusting, front-facing products, and ensuring demo units are clean and functional.
