Job summary

Staples in Kingston, Ontario is hiring a Retail Associate to deliver exceptional customer service, drive sales in furniture, technology and supplies, and help set and achieve sales and margin goals with store leaders.

You will handle POS transactions, maintain a clean and safe store, support merchandising and signage (planograms), and collaborate with colleagues to ensure a top customer experience.

Qualifications

• 3 months to 1 year of retail experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Specifically, you will

• Engage with and sell to all our customers by offering tailored products and services using all tools and techniques available in our selling model to anticipate and meet future customer needs.
• Handle transactions using the Point of Sale (POS) system, including shipping transactions and marketing tools to convert customers.
• Calmly de-escalate and assist in complex customer situations to ensure their concerns are addressed effectively or refer to a manager/supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe store environment by performing tasks like dusting, front-facing products, and ensuring demo units are clean and functional.
