Job summary

Staples Canada in Sydney, NS, is seeking a friendly Retail Sales Associate to deliver outstanding customer service, drive sales across furniture, technology and supplies, and uphold store standards. You will engage customers, process transactions with the POS, and help maintain a clean, safe store with well-stocked displays and accurate signage.

Qualifications

• 3 months to 1 year of prior retail experience (preferred).
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers and sell tailored products using all tools and techniques available in our selling model to anticipate and meet future customer needs.
• Handle transactions using the Point of Sale (POS) system, including shipping transactions and marketing tools to convert customers.
• Calmly de-escalate and assist in complex customer situations to ensure their concerns are addressed effectively or refer to a manager/supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe store environment by performing tasks like dusting, front-facing products, and ensuring demo units are clean and functional.
