Base pay range

$36.00/hr - $48.00/hr

6 month contract + possible extensions

On-site in Mississauga w. occasional travel to Kitchener

Pay: $36-48/hr

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• 5-7 years of experience as a Safety Manager or Safety Specialist/Coordinator, in EHS management
• Experience working within a distribution center, manufacturing center, food service manufacturing, warehousing
• Personable and a go getter attitude

Plusses:

• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety/a Science or engineering
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation
• CRSP certification

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client is searching for Safety/EHS Manager for their distribution center in Mississauga, Ontario. This distribution center is the company's head Canada office/center. Strictly an inbound and outbound distribution center of equipment within their Tools and Outdoor line, no manufacturing done here. Responsible for ensuring workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and environmental health standards. Won't be directly overseeing a team but working with other managers within the North America EHS team and reports directly to the site lead.

Day to day:

• Oversee and implement risk management initiatives across distribution center
• Training hourly employees on safety standards and expectations
• Coordinate with all active stakeholders - hourly employees, upper management, community regulators
• Take part and share reports with the health and safety committee
• Reporting concerns to safety management and ensure health and safety standards are met
• Documenting safety inspections, cite dangerous areas/procedures and recommend corrective procedures.
• Getting out with the team, active boots in the ground
