Job description

The Safety Coordinator plays a key role in maintaining and enhancing safety and compliance across our 24/7 manufacturing environment. Working closely with Safety and Operations teams in both Virginia and Kansas, this position is responsible for implementing safety programs, conducting safety audits, delivering monthly safety training, and supporting continuous process improvements to ensure a safe and efficient workplace.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Safety Program Implementation: Collaborate with the Safety Manager in Virginia to roll out established safety programs.
  2. Training Coordination: Schedule and lead monthly safety training sessions in alignment with the Virginia safety calendar.
  3. Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments to evaluate safety challenges in specific roles and across general facilities, identifying areas for improvement.
  4. Incident Response: Serve as the primary contact for incidents, injuries, and near misses at the Kansas facility.
  5. Audits and Compliance: Perform employee and site audits to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
  6. Process Improvement: Review regular tasks and recommend changes to enhance safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.
  7. Environmental Compliance: Conduct environmental compliance activities and fulfill permitting requirements.
  8. Administrative Support: Assist the Plant Manager with administrative tasks as needed.
  9. Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned by the Plant Manager and Safety Manager.

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a general manufacturing environment.
  2. Experience with safety and environmental compliance programs within general industry.
  3. Proven ability to coordinate and deliver training sessions.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  5. Self-motivated with strong adaptability to shifting priorities.
