Job summary

Pinnacle Roofing is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support roofing operations in the Okanagan region. This full-time, on-site role is based in Okanagan Falls, BC, and covers Kelowna, Penticton, Vernon and the surrounding valley.

You will implement health and safety policies, conduct site inspections and risk assessments, lead toolbox talks, maintain records, investigate incidents, and coordinate PPE while guiding crews toward best practices in roofing and construction environments.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety and construction safety concepts on job sites.
• Experience with EHS programs, regulatory compliance, and risk assessment.
• Ability to deliver toolbox talks, orientations, and coaching sessions.
• Investigation of incidents with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Knowledge of BC safety regulations and WorkSafeBC requirements.
• Excellent communication, observation, and documentation skills.

Role Description

The Safety Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Okanagan Falls, BC, supporting roofing operations across Kelowna, Penticton, Vernon and the Okanagan Valley. This position is responsible for implementing and monitoring health and safety policies, procedures, and programs on job sites, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards. Day-to-day tasks include conducting site inspections, hazard assessments, and safety audits; leading toolbox talks and safety training sessions; and maintaining accurate safety records and documentation. The Safety Coordinator will investigate incidents and near misses, recommend corrective actions, and work closely with supervisors and crews to promote a strong safety culture. The role also involves coordinating personal protective equipment, assisting with risk mitigation planning, and providing ongoing guidance on safe work practices in roofing and construction environments.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety and Occupational Health principles, with the ability to apply them to roofing and construction job sites.
• Experience with Environment Health and Safety (EHS) programs, including regulatory compliance, safe work procedures, and risk assessment.
• Skills in Safety Training delivery, including toolbox talks, orientation sessions, and coaching for frontline workers and supervisors.
• Accident Investigation experience, including root cause analysis, documentation, and development of corrective and preventive actions.
• Relevant education or certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., OHS certificate, NCSO, CRSP in progress or equivalent) is an asset.
• Knowledge of BC safety regulations, construction safety standards, and WorkSafeBC requirements.
• Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with diverse site teams.
• Ability to work on-site in varying weather conditions, travel between project locations, and use safety-related software or digital tools.
• Previous experience in roofing, construction, or a similar field-based safety role is preferred.
