Job summary

Humans of HR in Vancouver is recruiting a Safety Associate to join a hands‑on manufacturing team. You will support the occupational health and safety program through training, incident investigations, audits, inspections, and day‑to‑day safety communications across the plant.

The ideal candidate has a Diploma or certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (or equivalent), plus comfort with MS Office and strong communication across all levels.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent
• Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments is a strong asset
• Solid understanding of workers' compensation legislation and OH&S regulations

Responsibilities

• Support the development and review of safety programs, procedures, and risk assessments
• Help investigate and document workplace injuries and incidents, and track corrective actions
• Conduct jobsite safety inspections and monitor follow-up on findings
• Assist with the company's annual safety audit
• Deliver safety orientations and training sessions
• Communicate safety policy updates and changes across departments
• Track safety data - training completions, inspection results, incident and near-miss reports
• Schedule and support monthly joint health and safety committee meetings and inspections
• Keep safety certifications, signage, and safety data sheets current

This is a hands-on role supporting the company's occupational health and safety program - from safety training and incident investigations to audits, inspections, and day-to-day safety communication across the plant.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development and review of safety programs, procedures, and risk assessments

What You Bring

• Solid understanding of workers' compensation legislation and OH&S regulations
• Comfortable with MS Office and confident communicating across all levels of an organization
• Experience developing or supporting a safety program is a plus
